Heritage Day, 2013: Digging up the Past

This year's Heritage Day took place on October 19, and featured archeological work on the "Rumsey House." The Rumseys were owners of the sawmill that once operated in the Hamlet of Enfield Falls, the little community that occupied the site of the upper park. We interview Cornell archeology students, under the direction of Prof. Sherene Baugher, as they show us and explain artifacts they have found. The site of the hamlet site and its two remaining buildings, the Old Mill and the Miller's House, are on the National Register of Historic Places. Flood Damage at the Park
