All across New York State volunteers will be applying their loving hands to helping our parks on Saturday, May 3, and Robert H. Treman SP is one place you can make a difference! From 9:00 a.m. until noon, come help out with trail work and other cool projects in the upper park. Meet at the picnic shelter at the end of the parking lot. For more information, call the park office at 607-273-3440. To register as a volunteer for this event, please sign up on the Parks & Trails New York website.
Our regular monthly meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 4:30 p.m. in the lunch room at the maintenance building in the lower park (first left after the lower park entrance station). Members are welcome.
And don't miss our annual meeting, scheduled for Sunday, March 30 at 2:00 p.m. in the Kendal at Ithaca auditorium. We will report on activities from the past year, plans for the year ahead, and election of officers. Then we will have a great show about CCC camps in the Finger Lakes, including the one at Robert H. Treman State Park, presented by Josh Teeter, environmental educator for the Finger Lakes State Parks region. Free and open to the public.
By the way, if anyone missed our winter program on February 28 at the History Center of Tompkins County, the second half of the program, "Four Centuries at Taughannock Falls," is now in video form and you can see it under the "Videos" tab on this website.
March is dues month. Our membership dues year runs from April 1 to March 31, so please renew your membership (just $10) now. See the details on our "Who Are We?" page.
